Slipper Island is an authentic Kiwi private island with four chalets and two charming “Bandas” – 5-star glamping tents imported directly from Africa, (complete with queen bed and ensuite) just a step or two away from your own beach! We can accommodate 30 people at a time, so get a group together and start planning your island getaway.
It has taken us years to discover and develop this rare destination as a very special island getaway that we now invite you to experience. Simply fill in the form below, tell us your preferred date/s and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Beach house romance, nostalgia and Kiwi elegance personify our four chalets on Slipper Island, designed for a perfect summer in coastal whites, greens and blues. We have 2 x two bedroom chalets that can accommodate five people per chalet. There is also a sleeper couch in the lounge if you have additional guests. We have 2 x one bedroom chalets that can accommodate a couple or two adults with our split kingsize bed (can separate into singles). The one bedroom chalet also offers a sleeper couch in the lounge for additional guests upon request.
In addition to our chalets, Slipper Island has two charming 'Bandas' which are traditional African Safari Tents. Each of them has a master king-sized bedroom, dressing room and en-suite. They can accommodate a couple and two children or a couple and an adult. (King bed and sleeper couch.) The Bandas are a step or two away from your private beach.
On Slipper Island, you can rest, rejuvenate, enjoy adventure sports and explore your pristine playground, where shades of turquoise infuse your days and magnificent evening star-scapes light your nights.

We have a fully equipped boat if you would like to do some snapper fishing. Catch and release or bring home the catch of the day and cook it for dinner in our outdoor kitchen or on the BBQ.
Swim in the translucent, clear waters and seek out oysters for your lunch or dinner. Enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience of an up-close encounter with Eddie our resident Eagleray.
Take a walk and explore the place – some beautiful spots to be found, particularly our own lighthouse on the south side of the island. It's the perfect place for a picnic!
Slipper Island is a truly stunning New Zealand treasure. Slipper Island Resort makes up 95 percent of the 224 hectare island, meaning our guests have access to nearly the entire island.
This means freedom to explore, safe, sheltered, sandy beaches for swimming, paddling or building sandcastles, wide expanses to hit or kick a ball around, space to fly a kite without powerlines, hills to climb up or mountain bike down—good old-fashioned kiwi fun!
